Finally got something to write.
Lately, I turn being busier than before, hehe. But no, there were moments too which made me felt and behaved differently. I’ve been so much in love, it’s not changing tho, but the thoughts replaced.
And here I am, a drama-queen who trying to stop being dramatic. Yess, I have a more serious thing to share with. Hehe.
(Always with pledoi)
Begin with a kind of new year resolution beginning of this year, I made a movement for myself, a #onebookoneweek project. Actually, I meant nothing about this. This was all because after sorting my books, I realized that I have so many unread books and don’t have any idea when will all of those books finished reading unless I put them all in a kind of resolution. So there I was, began a new year being consistent reading at least one book in a week.
Not really worked at all, because there were times I had to put away the book (the books I mean here are popular books such as novels or kinds of literature, not school books such as politics and socials) and turned to read my school handbooks.
A friend once asked me what was I rush in to? No need to really read a book in a week maybe, but I just thought that in a year, we only have 52 weeks and if the resolution succeeds, maybe I’ll only read those 52 books. Remembering that, I know that my a-hundred-and-more unread-books will never be finished being read unless I do my resolution.
But finally, it was all being through in supple, hehe. I still bought some new books; novels, short-stories compilation, and other popular books. Really couldn’t get enough of books although sometimes hard to remember the whole story in the books.
Okay, enough about me. Let’s turn to the good news.
The last book I bought was from my friend’s indie publisher. She and her man committed to publish Indian literature which actually never being heard by me (except Rabindranath Tagore whom the books I never read before). I didn’t know anything about Indian literature. There were some journals I reviewed in my political-economy study last year, but nothing more than that. Not so many Indian books out there in public bookstores, and they were really unpopular I thought.
Her man once was a master student in India, majoring anthropology and apparently knew much about the country and the society. He translated the original version and published it independently. So I bought one.
Had been reviewing Indian journals thought me some about their culture and society. And because of that, I did really interest in the book above. It is about one of the caste in India which actually out of the caste system. The Indian caste which implies not only in the society but entirely in the politics and believes, make them really hard-to-death to get out of the system, and finally out of the poverty. It was acute and helpless. They couldn’t get a job unless being a feces-pit cleaner.
I haven’t read any of part of the book, but after I finished my last book-list, Monsoon Tigers and Other Stories by Rain Chudori (this one really nice, and yeah I really into the book but I’m not that ‘galau’ girl anymore yaaa), I decided to read this one, more than other options like 1Q84 or Demian. Still, there are many books left to be finished in my room. Really looking forward to being able to read faster but still being steep to the substance.
As I once told you here, maybe I read books from my elementary year, but there are much (not many) books that I never know which actually I should have been reading. Feeling guilty for not using my time reading more books before. But yeah, there is still so much time ahead, don’t worry. I spent reading in a library when I was in senior high school and elementary. It was the only two libraries that I ever loved, hehe. Ah, Bantul region library too. One of a few.
Finally, at last, I wrote something on this blog. Being wanted to write some but the poetic words had gone unknowingly where. The dramatic words too, being eliminated to another world. So maybe this one would make a difference in your day. I hope you are being inspired to read them too, hehe.
Last, I know reading will be much more fun if we have a companion, hehe. And I have this too from the indie bookstore.
